Hot and Dry. Wild Testudo graeca graeca habitat in July.


This is a very arid, very hot, and for much of the year a very dry habitat indeed.

The transition from the lush and green vegetation of spring to 'hot and dry' (very hot and dry!) is complete. The tortoises are buried down in aestivation and will not fully emerge again until rain arrives in autumn, it might be September, October or even November.
